How do we find these pairs?
We analyse and over 2,200 US equities with market caps over $2 billion and daily traded volumes of at least $2 million to find you the best stock pairs for you to trade.
What’s more, we update this analysis on a more or less quarterly basis to ensure these pairs stay fresh and their correlations and cointegrations strong to offer you the highest-probability setups.

Why Do We Call the FAST 50, FAST?
When we pair trade using the distance or cointegration methods, we need to choose a lookback period for setting the moving average of the two stocks’ Price Ratio as well as for measuring Standard Deviations in this Price Ratio. Many pair traders will traditionally use a three or six month lookback – however for these pairs we use approx. a 1.5 month lookback. Hence they are “FAST”. And because they are autoloaded, they also get you receiving high-probability stock pair trading signals FAST!
Why do we choose 1.5 months lookback (about 33 trading days)?
The table below is reproduced from a 2015 SaxoBank report titled “Has Equity Pair Trading Had Its Day?” by Mads Koefed , which exhaustively reviewed a bog standard distance method pair trading strategy (based on +/-2.0sd Entry and 0.0sd Exit) on the S&P500 constituent stocks from 2003-2015:
In it you will see that about 1.5 month lookback (33 trading days) leads to the highest return and highest Sharpe Ratio combination. It strikes the balance between number of trades per year on a pair and the best Reward/Risk trade-off.
